What is Sulphation?

Sulphation is a build-up of lead sulphate crystals and a major cause of premature death for lead-acid batteries.

Many factors contribute to the build-up. Overcharging, excessive heat, opportunity charge, stored without fully charged, quality of battery water etc.

All lead acid batteries will accumulate sulphation in their lifetime as it is part of a natural chemical process of a battery.
